Role: Turbomachinery Specialist

Design the heart of the launch vehicle. Push cryogenic fluids to the limit. Engineer the extreme pressures and mass flow rates that power orbital flight.

Mission Overview

At AlgoForge Aerospace, turbomachinery is the lifeblood of our launch architecture. As a Turbomachinery Specialist, you will take extreme ownership of the high-performance pumps and turbines that feed the VORTEX-1 Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE).

You aren't just running simulations; you are designing hardware that operates at the absolute physical limits of material science, handling massive pressure ratios, deep cryogenics, and severe cavitation margins to enable next-generation heavy lift.

Operational Objectives

Own the clean-sheet design and development of high-speed rotating assemblies (impellers, inducers, turbines) for advanced Methalox architectures.
Drive rigorous rotor dynamics analyses to guarantee stability and survivability across extreme operating ranges, critical speeds, and thermal transients.
Execute advanced structural, thermal, and fluid analyses (FEA/CFD) to mitigate fatigue, vibration, and extreme multi-phase flow phenomena.
Pioneer the use of high-strength superalloys, advanced composites, and additive manufacturing techniques for cryogenic and high-temperature environments.
Lead aggressive hardware-rich testing campaigns, from initial component spin tests to full-up integrated engine hot-fires.

Mission Prerequisites

BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with deep expertise in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, or rotating machinery.
Proven track record of taking complex mechanical systems from conceptual CAD to physical hardware and test—we need builders, not just analysts.
Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD (NX/SolidWorks) and high-fidelity simulation suites (ANSYS, Star-CCM+, CFX).
Deep understanding of advanced bearing architectures (hydrostatic/hydrodynamic), dynamic seals, and two-phase cryogenic flows.
Ability to thrive in a high-velocity, cross-functional environment where you are expected to make critical design decisions daily.
